Mother’s Day (Pop-up cards, colouring pages)

     Mother’s Day, holiday in honour of mothers that is celebrated in countries throughout the world. In its modern form the holiday originated in the United States, where it is observed on the second Sunday in May.

    Mother’s Day is an occasion to buy cards, flowers, chocolates, jewelry and other gifts for mothers or mother-type figures who have been role models in their lives. Some restaurants offer special Mother’s Day breakfasts, lunches or dinners. Mother’s Day is also celebrated on a wider scale around the world.

         Easter is a very important festival in the Christian religion, and many Christians go to church at this time. Easter also celebrates the arrival of spring, and we see lots of things that make us think of new life, for example eggs, chicks, flowers and rabbits.  

        People celebrate Easter in lots of different ways around the world. Some of the traditions are religious, others celebrate spring and many are about having fun and eating chocolate eggs! Happy Easter!
